Earning the BACPP certificate provides a clear competitive advantage in the cybersecurity industry. It demonstrates to employers and clients that you possess not only theoretical knowledge, but also the practical skills required to perform real-world penetration tests independently and professionally. Unlike purely theoretical certifications, the BACPP focuses on hands-on expertise — from vulnerability discovery and exploitation to structured reporting and risk assessment. Certified professionals gain greater credibility in client projects, stand out in job applications, and strengthen their reputation as trusted, technically skilled penetration testers.
At the start of the course you’ll receive access to the digital course materials (exam information) and your OpenVPN credentials for the virtual network of Vulnus Health Inc. You will have five days of secure VPN access to the company’s multi-segment IT infrastructure to perform a full penetration test of systems and applications. After purchasing the course, you can freely choose and schedule your individual lab start date. Document your findings in a final, encrypted report and submit it to us.
If your report is structured, clear, logically organised and complete, and you have identified the vulnerabilities in the Vulnus Health Inc. environment, you will be awarded the BACPP certificate as proof of your achievement.
Of course, you need a computer to perform penetration tests at the network and application level. The machine should run Linux (e.g., Debian, Ubuntu, Kali Linux); running Linux in a virtual machine (e.g., VirtualBox) is also fine. We also recommend a good stable internet connection.
To connect to our lab you must install the open-source OpenVPN client. If you operate behind a firewall that restricts outbound traffic (for example, in a corporate network), you may need to allow a specific TCP port for the VPN. We will provide the required port number and the VPN configuration file in your portal. For technical reasons, the lab connection does not use OpenVPN’s default port.
